Why I Started ELoanz
Why Mike Muriwai founded ELoanz after more than 20 years in New Zealand automotive retail and vehicle-finance conversations.

I spent more than two decades in New Zealand automotive retail, much of it with the Giltrap Group. My roles covered dealership operations, brand launches, business turnarounds, and large sales teams.
My last role there was General Manager for Audi, CUPRA, and GMSV. Before that, I led Giltrap Newmarket across five sites and several vehicle brands.
Those years showed me how often the finance conversation starts after the buyer has already chosen the car.
A better starting point puts the purchase context and guide repayment in view before the decision becomes urgent.
What ELoanz does online
ELoanz starts with a vehicle-finance enquiry. The website records the expected price, deposit, term, seller path, and contact details.
It also provides a guide repayment for planning. The guide is not an approval, rate quote, loan offer, or statement that a repayment is affordable for you.
The ELoanz team then reviews the purchase context. Any formal application, lender submission, financial advice, or approval happens through the correct consent and licensed process.
Why the order matters
The vehicle can become the focus before the buyer has reviewed the finance details. Starting the enquiry earlier gives the buyer time to prepare useful questions and documents.
That preparation does not promise a particular lender, rate, or outcome. It gives the later conversation a clearer starting point.
What to prepare
The first useful details are practical:
- the vehicle price range
- the available deposit
- the preferred term
- dealer stock, private sale, or still looking
- personal or business use
- identity, income, address, and debt information when requested
The lender decides what information it needs and whether it offers finance.
The reason ELoanz exists
ELoanz gives New Zealand buyers a way to begin the finance conversation before seller timing takes over. The service combines a planning guide with broker-led follow-up.
Read how car finance works in New Zealand, use the dealer finance checklist, or review the private sale guide.
Guide repayment only. Not an approval. Subject to lender criteria, affordability, asset details, terms, fees, and documents.
